The first half of 2015 has been an exceptionally busy period for Sanmar Shipyards.

Not only has the company opened and establishing its new custom built general purpose shipyard at Altinova, Türkiye, but it has been consistantly producing tugs at its existing Tuzla facility near Istanbul.

M/T Boğaçay V”, RAmparts 2400SX designed by distinguished Canadian naval architects Robert Allan Ltd exclusively for Sanmar Shipyard, has joined DP World’s fleet at Jebel Ali Port of Dubai. It has been physically delivered to Jebel Ali on 23rd February 2015 by Sanmar’s own mobilization crew. At the request of the buyer an extra stop was made en route at Port of Fujairah to pick up two of DP World’s representatives for familiarisation purposes duing completion of the delivery voyage.

This relatively new class of exclusive Sanmar tug, which measures 24.4m x 11.25m, has a 60 tonne bollard pull derived from a pair of 3512C Caterpillar engines, each developing 1,765kW at 1,800 rev/min connected to Rolls Royce azimuthing thrusters of US 205 FP type.
